Life can be difficult, confusing, and scary at times. Often, we don’t know where to turn or who to turn to. Finding a compassionate listener and witness to our concerns has been helpful to many people.

Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, or trauma, my approach to counseling focuses on providing a safe place where people can process feelings, experiences and memories about current or past experiences in effective ways that can help resolve your concerns. Additionally, therapy may explore the meanings and contexts of distressful symptoms often associated with these experiences and/or discover those obstacles preventing your successful living. At all times, I will respectfully recognize that this is your life and you have the final choice.

While my training focused on creating useful meanings to an individual’s life events, in reality I use a variety of approaches, depending on the presenting concerns and symptoms. These may include cognitive-behavioral, supportive, solution focused, trauma treatment and/or EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with individuals over 13 and with couples.

I received my PhD in psychology from Saybrook University and am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked as a clinician in several agencies and in private practice from 1990 through 2024.
