In Korean, there is a saying, nae-ri sarang, which traditionally describes love flowing from elders to younger generations. I think of it more broadly as the unconditional care and support people can receive from others. In our work together, you can expect a space where your experiences are seen, your strengths are honored, and your challenges are met with understanding. My purpose as a counselor is to be fully present with you, supporting and collaborating with you as you find moments of relief, comfort, joy, and hope.
My approach to therapy is integrative and relationship-based, emphasizing a strong, collaborative connection between client and counselor. I am particularly interested in techniques from person-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and place a strong emphasis on multicultural responsiveness, honoring each client’s cultural background, values, and lived experiences. In our sessions, I aim to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered. Interventions may include exploring emotions and experiences, discussing coping skills, and using mindfulness or behavioral strategies to support clients’ personal goals, growth, and well-being.
