I got into the field of counseling because of one simple thing – hope.
I believe that it is by stepping into our questions, struggles, and past harm that we come to know hope more deeply. There is power in telling our stories and allowing someone else to be present with us in them. I strive to create a safe space for you to look at what may be holding you back from living the life you wish you could live, to hear your stories, and to offer support as best I can.
My clinical specialization is working with survivors of sexual abuse and assault. Although sexual abuse and assault have a profound impact on life no matter how long ago it happened, it is never too late to process through it and find healing. I also work with trauma and PTSD, Title IX support, grief, anxiety, depression, sexual issues, the LGBTQ+ population, college students, and adolescents.
I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Counseling Psychology from a small school in the mountains of northeast Georgia before relocating to Seattle, where I received my Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. I am licensed in the state of Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), #LH60722752.
I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) at Adler University in Chicago, IL, therefore I utilize telepsychology in my practice. This means that I provide therapy through telecommunication technologies, such as video conferencing or the phone. One of the benefits of telepsychology is that we can engage in counseling without being in the same physical location. Since I am licensed in Washington State, I only work with current residents of Washington State. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about this!
In my spare time I enjoy writing, winning fantasy hockey leagues, Dungeons & Dragons, and exploring the city of Chicago. I think that books, coffee, and cats are a magical combination. I try to find beauty in the seemingly mundane moments of the day-to-day, because life is just better when you take the time to be inspired.
